    HI There,
Char or anyone you have mentioned a thickener callled Thicken Thin but where do you find this? I assume you bought it online since i haven't seen anything like this in the stores. Is there a sub I can use that you know of? I want to make your mock apple crisp today but i don't have this.

I've seen it in health food stores. If I remember correctly, it is far from cheap, though.

It's by Expert Foods and it's called Thicken Thin Not/Starch. They also have Not/Sugar and Not/Cereal. I bought it at Netrition.com but health food stores might have it.

An alternative would be either guar or xanthan gum. Now I personally have tried the guar and didn't much care for it, can't speak for the xanthan though.

They SEEM expensive but it takes very little and the bag lasts me a very long time!

It was the consistency - very "slimy" mouthfeel to me. Maybe I used too much - but I just prefer the TTN/S - the guar was also difficult to incorporate evenly and the TTN/S seems easier to whisk in to me!
