Not really posting my menus much any more, but I thought I would just for fun.

B: coffee, grapefruit half
L: chicken stir-fried with cabbage, seasoned w/mustard and cider vinegar, akmak cracker, five strawberries
D: cooked shrimp with homemade cocktail sauce, cucumber slices, wasa cracker

So far, this is only 438 calories, but I can't think what else to add to get it to 500. Maybe a few more strawberries later...

Jessica, I must say your menus do sound yummy and topping out at less than 500 cals. You are very creative with them. Congratulations on the 16 pounds!

Thanks, Carrie! It's amazing what you can do with 500 calories if you cook for yourself and choose with care. That's one lesson I'll take away from this experiment--you can eat better when you eat most of your meals at home.

I am down .8 today, for a total of 16.8 pounds in 22 days!

Aaarghhhh. Only .2 down today. But that does bring me to an even 17 pounds lost, total! Hooray! I have hit 177, the weight I haven't been able to go under in at least 10 years. So this next week will bring the REAL test of this diet.

Half pound bounce-up and an unhappy surprise visit from TOM greeting me this morning. Blargh. Week 4 has been disastrous.

That is why you had the 1/2 pound bounce up. Hormones wreak havoc with us when we are trying to lose weight! Hang in there, you are doing so well.

Good news: the half pound bounce-up is gone.

Bad news: right back to the exact same weight as the rest of the week.

I am officially stalled at the weight I ALWAYS officially stall at.

Dr. Simeons had something called an apple day for stalls, and if I'm still stalled in the morning, I guess tomorrow I will do the apple day.

This morning's weigh-in: -.4

This puts me in a bit of a dilemma. While it is technically a loss, it wouldn't even have registered on the scale in Dr. Simeons's day. I'm still in the 177s. So do I do the apple day or not? If you do it, the set-up is that it goes from noon one day until noon the next day. So I have a couple of hours to decide.

But I'm seriously thinking I WILL do it. I have just got to move out of the 177s. I HAVE TO!!!!!

Jessica, I am interested to see if you did the apple day. Does that mean just eating apples? I can't wait to hear how it went. Good news though on the -.4 - It counts in my book!!

I have had four apples, and will have no more. Even though I feel kind of hollow and empty, I also feel kind of gurgley and indigestion-y. And another apple does not sound good AT ALL.

Strange day. Wouldn't want to do it again.

I did it! I did it! I did it!

Down one pound, and that brings me to 176.4, my lowest weight in at least a dozen years! I nearly cried when I weighed in! I'm just beside myself!!

I will finish out week 5 and then move on to Phase 3 and get good and stable there!

No loss today. I am exactly 176.4 again. Stubborn body. I had hoped that once I got through that 177, I'd go back to my pattern of regular small losses.

On the other hand, the one pound drop did hold, and I didn't get a "bounce-up," so that's a GOOD thing.

I am 1.6 away from having lost 20 pounds, and 2.2 away from not being "overweight" any more on Fitday. Sure would like to hit ONE of those in this last week of P2.
